چکیده
This paper reports research on the frictional behavior of a textured surface against several materials under dry and lubricated conditions, this is aimed to provide design guidelines texturing for wide-ranging industrial applications. Experiments were performed tribo-tester with facility simulating A ball-on-plate model in reciprocating motion dry, oil-lubricated, water-lubricated conditions. To study SiC various materials, three types ball-bearing –elements, 52100 steel, silicon nitride (Si3N4), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), used. Friction wear performance an un-textured two widely used micro-scale texture surfaces, grooves circular dimples, examined compared. The results demonstrated that effect textures friction influenced by parameters pairs. circular-dimple groove texture, certain parameters, played positive role improving specific operating conditions SiC–steel SiC–Si3N4 pairs; however, there was no improvement SiC–PTFE pair. offer understanding knowledge base enhance bearing elements complex interacting systems.

متن کاملRole of Surface Texture on Friction and Wear under Boundary Lubricated Conditions
Ensuring effective lubrication between sliding surfaces is one of the challenges in the field of tribology. In addition to the conventional parameters like speed, load, contact geometry and material parameters, the surface texture also influences the coefficient of friction. In the present investigation, the effect of surface texture on coefficient of friction under boundary lubricated conditio...

In this investigation the friction and wear performance of GUR 1020 medical grade ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) polymer under dry sliding, distilled water and egg albumen lubrication conditions were evaluated. The sliding experiments were carried out on a pin-on-disc tribometer. The contact configuration used was a polymer pin on a rotating AISI 304L stainless steel disc. We...
متن کاملFriction models for sliding dry, boundary and mixed lubricated contacts
Friction, lubrication, and wear have a strong influence on the performance and behavior of mechanical systems. This paper deals with different friction models for sliding contacts running under different conditions. The models presented are suited to different situations, depending on the type of contact, running conditions, and the behavior of interest. The models will be discussed from simula...
